This collection includes SORAA Vivid 3 full-spectrum LEDs with very high colour rendering for homes, galleries, shops, medical practices, showrooms and the lighting of art, materials and high-quality surfaces. The key factors are base type, voltage, lamp shape, colour temperature and beam angle.
The first thing to check is the existing base. GU10 is a 230 V base for many ceiling spots. GU5.3 is a 12 V low-voltage base for MR16 luminaires with a transformer. G53 is the large 12 V base for AR111 lamps. PAR30 with E27 is a 230 V screw-base reflector lamp.
GU10 is operated directly on 230 V and uses a twist-lock base. GU5.3 is a 12 V pin base and requires a suitable low-voltage transformer. Both lamp types can look similar, but electrically they are not interchangeable.
A SORAA AR111 with G53 base is used for larger 12 V reflector luminaires. These lamps are often used in shops, galleries, showrooms and high-end residential spaces when a larger light aperture and precise accent lighting are required.
PAR30 describes the larger reflector shape of the lamp. E27 is the corresponding 230 V screw base. SORAA PAR30 LEDs are suitable for larger luminaires, spotlights and applications requiring more light output and a wider reflector.
MR16 is the compact reflector shape used in many spotlights. AR111 is a larger reflector shape with a G53 base. PAR30 is a larger reflector lamp with an E27 screw base. A60 is the classic bulb shape with E27 base and is more suitable for general room lighting than for narrow accent lighting.
Narrow beam angles such as 10° are suitable for precise accents, artworks or focused spots. 25° is a good standard for accent lighting. 36° to 60° are better for broader light distribution, walls, living spaces or retail areas.
2700 K appears warm and cosy. 3000 K is slightly more neutral and works well in shops, galleries, kitchens, medical practices and modern interiors. 4000 K feels clearer and more functional and is better suited to work areas, exhibitions or technical lighting.
Many SORAA Vivid 3 LEDs are dimmable, but the actual dimming quality depends on the dimmer, transformer and existing installation. Especially with 12 V GU5.3 or G53 lamps, the transformer must be compatible with LED lamps.
