Frequently asked questions about woom

Which woom balance bike is suitable for which age?

The woom WOW is designed for the first balance experiences from around 9 months. The woom GO 1 is suitable from around 1.5 years, while the larger woom GO 1 PLUS is intended for children from around 3 years. However, body height and inseam are always more important than age alone.

What is the difference between woom WOW, woom GO 1 and woom GO 1 PLUS?

The woom WOW is a playful first vehicle for sitting, rolling and balancing. The woom GO 1 is a classic 12-inch balance bike for toddlers. The woom GO 1 PLUS is the larger 14-inch version for older or taller children.

Why are woom balance bikes so light?

woom develops children’s vehicles with lightweight frames, child-friendly components and a design reduced to the essentials. Low weight makes handling easier, builds confidence and makes the first riding attempts much more enjoyable.

Does my child need a helmet when riding a balance bike?

Yes, a well-fitting children’s helmet is strongly recommended. Even on a balance bike, children can fall or touch obstacles. A suitable helmet protects and helps children get used to safe riding early on.

Which helmet size fits my child?

The right helmet size depends on your child’s head circumference. The helmet should sit securely, not press, cover the forehead well and not wobble. If you are unsure, we will gladly help you choose the right size.

Can danholt help with woom spare parts or repairs?

Yes. We support you with advice, spare parts, accessories and repairs for selected woom products. This is especially useful when a children’s vehicle should remain reliable and safe for a long time.

Which is better for getting started: balance bike or tricycle?

A balance bike usually trains balance, coordination and steering more directly than a tricycle. For many children, it is therefore the better preparation for riding a bicycle later on.

Learning to walk is an adventure – and one of the most beautiful stages of development

Learning to walk is not a single moment – it is a little adventure.

First they shuffle. Then they crawl. Then the child pulls itself up on anything that offers some kind of support: the sofa, a table leg, mum, dad.

Children do not develop according to an instruction manual.

They try things out. They fall down. They get back up. They push, pull, turn, roll, slide – and discover their own strength along the way.

Small children, big speed – a helmet is simply part of the ride

When children become more mobile, speed comes into play. That is exactly when balance, coordination and a good helmet matter. Safety should not slow children down – it should give them freedom.

      At some point, it happens...

Careful rolling turns into real riding – first slowly, then faster, then even faster.

Children love speed. And honestly: they should.
