DoorBird: Smart Home starts at the front door
The company “Bird Home Automation GmbH” is a young company based in Berlin, specialising in smart doorbell systems.
The first serial product came onto the market in 2015. Since then, the company has grown continuously and is no longer a niche player.
We became aware of the DoorBird products while looking for intelligent solutions for getting started with Smart Home — for private or commercial use, for example in residential buildings, offices, shops and more.
The solution had to be innovative, uncomplicated and, above all, affordable. The DoorBird devices convinced us from the very beginning, and so we became an authorised sales partner back in 2016. We started with a product range that was still fairly manageable at the time, including the DoorBird classic D201 for single-family homes, which found many grateful customers. In the following years, DoorBird continuously developed its product portfolio. Today, the range includes door stations with keypad, display module and fingerprint through to systems for apartment buildings and building complexes with up to 200 apartments.
What makes DoorBird doorbell systems so attractive?
High-tech features without compromise: HD video. 180° lens. 4D motion sensor. Infrared night vision, RFID standard and much more.
Uncomplicated installation: The system is delivered as a clear complete “kit” with all required connections, including connection options for door opener, chime or garage door opener. Everything is neatly planned and accessible in the electronic unit.
Multi-user capable: Up to 8 users can receive push notifications about what is happening at the front door, with video and audio directly on their smartphone or tablet.
Access from anywhere in the world: Even when you are not at home, you still keep full control. You can see visitors, speak to them and, if necessary, open the door.
Quality down to the last detail: At DoorBird, quality has never been compromised. Production, including the various high-quality front panels, takes place in the company’s own factory in Berlin.
Clean, straightforward design combined with optimal choice: All DoorBird standard stations are offered in different variants. These include the number of call buttons, the type of installation, surface-mounted or flush-mounted, and the visual design with various metal front panels or finishes in common RAL colours.
Custom-made solutions at a fair price: Anyone who does not find what they need among the standard systems can also use the DoorBird configurator. With this practical tool, dimensions, operating elements, front panel and more can be freely combined and configured.
Well-designed, precisely matched accessories: Here the manufacturer offers a lot of useful accessories for installation as well as expanding functionality. Examples include the 2-wire PoE converter for bridging missing network cables, the IP controller for additional in-house security, and the convenient indoor station with screen and integrated chime, to name just a few.
Complete programme, but not an island: DoorBird is open and compatible with many Smart Home standards and providers, including KNX, AVM, B&O, Synology, Fibaro, NUKI and many more.
Eligible modernisation measure: The installation of a DoorBird system is financially supported by various government funding programmes. Please consult your relevant service provider or KfW adviser.
