What exactly is core training? Hype — or seriously good for me?

“Core” simply means the centre of the body. Core training therefore refers to any training that targets the body’s centre.

Core training is currently very popular and quite a hype in fitness studios.
For me personally, that alone would almost be a reason to stay away from it... but let’s take a closer look:

The area of the body usually referred to as the centre or core is our centre. Core refers to the entire musculature, ligaments and fascia in this area. The front with chest and abdomen, the back and shoulders, as well as the flanks.

These interacting muscle areas of the core stabilise our entire body.

Core training therefore consists of specific exercises designed to develop and strengthen these stabilising muscles.
By the way, the core is already used when running.

Even everyday activities can lead to injuries — for example the infamous accidents at home.
Keeping the centre of the body strong and flexible can already provide protection here, which is why core training is not only for competitive athletes and sports professionals.
A weak core is often followed by lower back pain or hip problems.

At ISPO 2019, my wife and I discovered the then newly presented PRAEP ProPilot Core Trainer, finalist of the ISPO Brandnew Award 2019.

The idea was so clever, so smart and at the same time so effective that we immediately decided to get in touch with Tim Wichmann and Christian Jäger, founders of KAIKAI GmbH and inventors of this brilliant and simple training device:
“A bicycle handlebar with a tetrahedral centrepiece made of plastic and rubber”.

The real innovation and brilliance lies here too in the “core”, meaning the central element of the training device, which enables training at different levels with its three differently designed side surfaces. From beginner to advanced to pro.
An app is also available if you want to add a playful element and more motivation to your training, but it is not strictly necessary.

The inventors and company founders themselves are passionate bikers — downhill, trail... and the training devices they developed are absolutely inspired by this scene. Valentina Höll, Nina Hoffmann and Rob Heran are just some of the top athletes they partner with.

Nevertheless, the PRAEP ProPilot and the brand-new PRAEP Pods are a perfect choice for anyone who wants to train their core. Whether as an athlete or simply for personal fitness.

I myself have been playing tennis passionately for several years, and core training has significantly improved my fitness and my tennis game.

That makes me all the happier that we now have the PRAEP ProPilot and the brand-new PRAEP Pods in our range.

My opinion:
